Summary
Left Coast Performance had a booming business on Amazon, but they had no web presence.
They wanted to own their own media instead of relying on Amazon’s (rather fickle) algorithm.
The problem, of course, was that they were starting from scratch and had no momentum.
In about 8 months, Ranq was able to take Left Coast Performance from zero to 30,000 monthly organic visits. We did this by helping to optimize the store and aggressively publishing content that brought their core audience to the site & moved them through marketing funnels.
These efforts helped Left Coast begin the process of a 7-figure exit.
Goals
Left Coast Performance wanted to create a media asset of their own to compliment a booming amazon business.
CHALLENGES
Challenge #1: Starting from scratch
Left Coast Performance was starting completely from scratch, and when a website starts from scratch, it can take a while to build significant momentum. We needed to help build that momentum.
Challenge #2: Competitive niche
Left Coast Performance was in the keto space, a super competitive space with lots of companies selling, promoting, and writing about the same things. We needed to help Left Coast Performance differentiate.
Challenge #3: Strong focus on generating new revenue
Left Coast Performance didn’t just want vanity traffic. They wanted traffic that built an audience they could leverage over time for new revenue.
Strategy
1. Optimization of the store and product pages
The store is what makes the money in e-commerce. In this case, the product catalog was relatively small. Still, optimizing the store helped get traffic to the most important pages on the site.
2. Smart content strategy
Because keto is a competitive space and we were starting from scratch, we developed a content strategy that aggressively targeted lots of little pockets of low competition to incrementally build a large audience.
3. Aggressive publishing schedule
We hit the publish button as often as resources would allow to give ourselves more opportunities to rank for new keywords.
